Claire Williams and Sam Williams set up The Mount Studio Architects in 2014 as a new design led Architecture and Interiors practice based in Totnes
Sam and Claire have almost thirty years experience in Architecture and design. They met at University and have been passionate about Architecture, design and interiors ever since. Both Claire and Sam maintain links with architectural education with Claire a design tutor at Plymouth University and Sam at Bath University. Working with the next generation of Architects keeps us energetic and enthusiastic about new challenges.

Sam has a passion for design and enjoys nurturing a project through the various stages to completion.
Sam has developed his skills over nearly fifteen years as a practicing Architect, prior to embarking on this new and exciting journey at The Mount Studio.
He has a talent for applying unique and sustainable design solutions for his clients. Sam loves to put the theory into practice and has an extensive range of power tools, some of which he even knows how to use!
Claire is an outstanding design talent, empathetic to a client's needs, and understands how to design spaces to lift the spirit.
Claire enjoys the process of getting to know a client, understanding their brief and communicating with them through the design process. Her unique design skills and attention to detail ensure that all projects have a high level of design consideration from the outset.
We specialise in high quality bespoke design projects with a particular emphasis on sustainable and ecological Architecture. Our experience includes many domestic and commercial clients over a number of years. Sam, in particular, has a huge range of experience in Timber design having been a Partner for five years at Roderick James Architects LLP, one of the leading timber design Architects in the UK. Here at the Mount Studio, our core projects have a construction value of between £100,000 to £2,000,000 but we are willing to talk to you about whatever project you have in mind.
Sam is a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and both Sam & Claire are members of the Architects Registration Board (ARB).
